Love is a word we use constantly, yet rarely examine. We invoke it to describe feelings, preferences, loyalties, and comforts—but in doing so, we often reduce it to something sentimental, private, and safe, or worse, we weaponize it.

This book returns to the example of Jesus, where love is not just a feeling, but a deliberate and costly action that puts the other first. It challenges the ways faith has been reshaped to justify indifference, judgmentalism, exclusion, and privilege—and asks whether those distortions have become so familiar that we mistake them for orthodoxy.
