It’s just a drop in the bucket!
I'm sure we've all heard that expression. Its purpose is to trivialize something and it's often used to discourage small attempts to make a positive change, suggesting that such efforts are pointless.
And they’re right. It is but a drop in the bucket.
However, let me ask you this question.
What was in that bucket before you put your drop in?
Water?
Guess what! The water in that bucket is made up of drops. That’s how you fill that bucket, one drop at a time.
So yes, it is just a drop in the bucket. However, the only way we’ll fill that bucket is if we each put our drops in it.
My books … and this website … are simply my drops in the bucket.
On their own, they probably won’t make much difference. However, as part of a greater whole, maybe, just maybe, they can do their part.
It’s just a drop in the bucket, but so are all the other drops!
